Crime & Accident Reports
This site allows users to pay for crash reports and crime reports with Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express credit cards. PLEASE NOTE: When searching for an accident on LexisNexis, you should provide ONLY the following 3 items: 1.STATE (Michigan) 2.JURISDICTION (Sterling Heights Police Department) 3.REPORT NUMBER (numbers only - do not use spaces or dashes)
To obtain a copy of a police report without coming in to the police station, simply submit your request on a Freedom of Information Act request form and send to shpdfoia@sterling-heights.net. Your report, if available, will be provided to you within the next 5 business days. If you prefer to come in person, you will need to be at the Record’s Bureau window by 4:15 p.m. to assist us in facilitating your request.
